Championing the Security of our Customers
By Ketan Babaria
At eHealth, safeguarding our customers’ personal information is an essential element of our commitment to serving their best interests by matching them with the best health coverage for their personal needs.
That’s why I’m proud to announce today that eHealth has achieved HITRUST i1 certification for our carrier integration platform. The i1 certification means our company has achieved broad and reliable assurances against current and emerging cyber threats.
Founded in 2007, HITRUST (pronounced “high trust”) champions programs that safeguard sensitive information and manage information risk for organizations across industries and throughout third-party supply chains.
In order to earn the certification, eHealth participated in a rigorous risk assessment and implemented advanced security controls to mitigate potential threats and enhance our enterprise-wide risk management strategy, ensuring the resilience of our information infrastructure.
Whether you’re shopping for a Medicare insurance plan, a health plan for yourself and your family, or a health plan for the employees of your small to mid-sized business, eHealth is committed to protecting your privacy and the security of the information you entrust to us.
When you enroll in a new health insurance plan, you’re asked to provide sensitive personal information about yourself, including your name and date of birth, your address, and your payment information, and more.
When you’ve selected the plan that you think is the best fit for your personal needs and budget (with help from our licensed agents who are always ready at hand), we provide this information to the insurance company you’ve selected. That’s part of our role as a licensed health insurance broker.
But not all health insurance brokers can claim to uphold the high standards of data security we do, as recognized by our certification by HITRUST today, one of America’s pre-eminent data security certification firms.
