New Medicare Annual Enrollment Period Dates: PlanPrescriber Launches Countdown Widget

MAYNARD, MA -- Today PlanPrescriber (, a wholly-owned subsidiary of eHealth, Inc. (NASDAQ: EHTH), published a Medicare Annual Enrollment Period Countdown Widget, which counts down the days, hours, minutes and seconds until the beginning of 2011 Medicare Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) on October 15, 2011.
In the past, Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period for Medicare Advantage and Prescription Drug plans began on November 15 and ended on December 31. Many Medicare beneficiaries may be unaware of the new dates for 2011 (October 15 through December 7), which makes this widget particularly important.
An increasing number of Baby Boomers are now enrolling in Medicare for the first time. As they begin to understand the different types of Medicare coverage available, and the specific Medicare enrollment periods that correspond to each coverage type, these dates become even more important.
This free widget is a simple, useful application that can be embedded on a webpage, blog, social media page, or any other web site that allows for the use of JavaScript or Flash. The countdown widget also provides answers to four basic questions about Medicare: How does Medicare work? What is Medicare Advantage? What is Medicare Part D? And, what is a Medicare Supplement plan?
The widget is available in the following locations:
