Medicare’s Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) runs from October 15 through December 7, 2024. If you’re a Medicare beneficiary, this is your chance to review your options and enroll in a new Medicare Advantage or Medicare Part D plan for 2025.

Here’s a seven-point checklist to help you make the most of reviewing your coverage options this AEP:

1) Set aside 1-2 hours. Picking a new Medicare plan for 2025 is a big decision. Don’t rush or stress yourself. Set aside a couple hours to review your options and enroll.

2) Have your Medicare card handy. You’re going to need it if you opt to enroll in a new plan for 2025.

3) Have your list of prescription drugs handy. You’ll want to make sure that any new plan you consider will cover the drugs you need at a price you can afford.

4) Have your doctors’ and medical facility’s names and addresses handy. You’ll want to make sure your favorite doctors or hospitals are in-network for any new plan you’re considering.

5) Review your Annual Notice of Change letter. This letter helps explain how your current plan may be changing in 2025; use it to compare costs and coverage with other plans.

6) Be prepared to use your computer. A licensed online health insurance marketplace like eHealth.com can help you compare different Medicare plans available in your area.

7) Know who to call for help. Licensed health insurance agents (like those available at eHealth.com) can provide you valuable personal help and advice by phone. It doesn't cost anything extra and there's no obligation to enroll.
